The project presents the renovation of an apartment in a building in the old town of Barcelona dating from 1916. The objective was to turn a gloomy and excessively compartmentalized image into an open loft space.
The only point of ventilation and lighting are the two windows on the façade, since the apartment only has a small closed service patio where the elevator placed a posteriori occupies most of it.
The main objective is to get the maximum use of natural light and ventilation in the apartment. The strategy has been to accumulate the facilities and storage spaces at the far end of the façade to free up the rest of the house. We took advantage of a corner in the perimeter walls to place the kitchen.
The result is a spacious, bright, flexible and ventilated space.
